Travertine Architects was founded in 2024 by Park Gayeon + Sung Sejong based on their many years of design atelier experience with the following goals:

We believe that architecture is not a mere assembly of functions, but a harmonious art form where shape, emotion, texture, and light converge. Guided by a deep exploration of proportion and materiality, our goal is to create architecture that retains its essence over time—spaces that endure, both in form and feeling.

Materiality is a central part of our design language. We honor and reveal the inherent qualities of materials—the roughness of concrete, the warmth of wood, the tension of metal, and the clarity of glass. These elements are not simply finishes; they are sensory mediators in the dialogue between space and human experience.

Proportion, to us, goes far beyond numerical precision. It is a spatial language that defines how architecture is felt. From the timeless beauty of classical ratios to the dynamic flow of contemporary space, we carefully compose each project with its own rhythm and order, attuned to the scale of human life.

트래버틴 건축사사무소는 박가연 + 성세종이 다년간의 디자인 아뜰리에 경험을 바탕으로 아래와 같은 목표를 가지고 2024년 설립한 사무소입니다.

건축은 단순한 기능의 집합이 아닌, ‘형태와 감성, 질감과 빛’이 어우러진 조화로운 예술이라고 믿습니다. 우리는 비례감과 물성에 대한 깊은 탐구를 바탕으로, 시간이 흘러도 본질을 잃지 않는 건축물을 디자인하는 것을 목표로 하고 있습니다.

재료의 물성은 우리의 디자인 언어에서 중요한 축을 이룹니다. 콘크리트의 거침, 목재의 따스함, 금속의 긴장감, 유리의 투명함처럼, 재료가 가진 고유한 성질을 존중하고 드러냄으로써 공간에 생명력을 불어넣습니다.
